Danfodiyo Varsity Inducts 81 Medical Graduates

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has today, Friday 4th February, inducted 81 medical students in to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria profession at the University Auditorium.
The event had in attendance Prof Ibrahim Magawata representing the vice-chancellor of the University, Prof A. A. Daily, chairman of the medical and dental council of Nigeria Sokoto state chapter, the Dean, Faculty of Allied Sciences, district head of Bodinga, Alhaji Bello Abdulrauf among others.
While addressing the graduates, the chairman of the occasion Hon. Dr. Tanko Yusuf Sununu, expressed his profound gratitude to the management for allowing him to chair the occasion.
"I want to congratulate the parents for their huge success on their children. I implore you the parents to give them the proper assistance in carrying out their duties.
"To the graduates, you must not show bias, religious bigotry in carrying out your assignment. he admonished.
Dr Abdulmuhsin Enejo, assistant registrar and Head of the department of medicine representing Deputy Registrar, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria who led the inductee in the Hippocratic oath advised them on the nature of the profession, said:
"Medical profession is a highly-respected profession, so you have to give it your best in rendering service to humanity."
Dr Muhammad, Chairman medical and dental council of Nigeria, Sokoto state chapter gives his word of encouragement and congratulate the graduands.
Professor A. A. Saliu while giving his closing remarks said: "I congratulate you over the success. The next line of action is to be on Housemanship and you are urged to do it in a federal or state university teaching hospital. We are working close to the council to increase the slot so that we can admit all of you."
"Try to be humble and learn from your seniors and this is what you can do to succeed as you know that UDUS award is based on learning and character."
In his remarks, the class representative of the graduates gives thanks to Almighty Allah and appreciate his fellow colleagues.
"We thank God in all for all we acquired, we appreciate our colleagues, parents, teachers and spouses for all the adventures, we thank our friends individually and collectively for helping us to achieve the dream we have been willing to, we achieve it and we are now an eximious doctors."
Hassan Abdullahi Abdulkadir received award of best student in pediatrics while Doctor Idris Aliyu Koko best graduating students in community medicine and Mukhtar Muhd, best student in pharmacology.
Idris Zubaidah oyiza was awarded overall best graduating student and best student in clinical, Surgery and Internal medicine with cash prizes, while, Samaila Aliyu Yusuf was awarded the best student in Anatomy with an Award and a cash prize of #100,000.
