Gamji Press member clinches Departmental Best Graduating Student

In recognition of excellent performance in academic pursuit, Gamji Press member, Adewale Sefiu Damilare clinched the most coveted award -'Best Graduating Student', at the department of Pure and Environmental Chemistry, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, in 2022/2023 academic session.


Mr Adewale Sefiu Damilare, a  recent graduate of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, who is also a member of the press outfit has emerged as the best graduating student of his department with an astonishing CGPA of 4.78.


The feat didn't come as a surprise to the board as Mr Adewale is known for his hardwork, diligence and commitment to his academics over the years, of which this set of values has earned him various awards over the years.


He was also awarded an award of Merit by the National Association of Osun State Students, UDUS chapter as the best male graduating student of the year.


In celebration of his consistency of obtaining minimum of 4.5 out of the obtainable 5.0 in a single academic session, he earned the academic honour of Dean's list in the 2018/2019,2019/2020 and 20 20/2021 academic sessions.


In September 2023,  he took the 6th position in the 3rd National Chemistry Online Quiz Competition, organized by Students Chemical Society of Nigeria, Umar Musa Yar'adua University, Katsina where he emerge as 'the face of chemistry' in the competition.


Mr Adewale Sefiu Damilare is student of high dignity, scholar per excellence, journalist with wide range of  experience, environmental specialist, a chemist with vast knowledge, a teacher and mentor to many and a role model to all.
