Danfodiyo Varsity has Highest Number of Professors in Nigeria - NUC

Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto has ranked the University with the highest number of professors in Nigeria by the National University Commission (NUC).

The information was contained in data published on the NUC official website and analyzed by PUNCH Newspaper on Wednesday. 

According to the commission, the ranking was based on the quality of academic staff in the University.

"This is an assessment of the quality of academic staff in the university. The full professorial category is selected as it is the zenith of academic staff quality in university."

Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto was ranked first with 36.44% followed by Obafemi Awolowo with 35.80%. While on the other hand, the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, University of Agriculture, Makurdi had the lowest percentage of professors in the Federal Universities in the country.
