Gamji Poetry: An ode to unity

By Musa Aminah

I wish to wake up one day

And see my motherland become a symphony of thoughts

Where our minds dance with diverse melodies, harmonizing as one

Where we cast aside the boundaries of regions and tribes,

and speak as children of the same soil

Where Amaka, Ajibola, and Danladi wield swords of justice

Where Rukayat and Ruth stand as guardians of Osunfunke's honor

Where we unite in the battle for true democracy,

regardless of the language on our tongues

Where "Unity and justice, peace and progress"

become more than just words

A nation where love blossoms like a garden in full bloom

A nation where every voice holds the power to govern

A nation where equality is woven into the fabric of our existence

A nation where one man's words echo the hopes of all

Where the divide between the poor and the rich dissolves like morning mist

A nation where the law stands tall, above every soul

I wish to wake up one day and witness a nation where peace reigns supreme.
